Today, at 19:00, we are opening an International seminar that will take place at the Umm el-Fahem Art Gallery until Thursday, 23 February, titled "Oral History, Memory and Art".

Researchers from France, Switzerland and Italy in addition to Israeli and Palestinian researchers will share their ideas and knowledge. The seminar is closed tothe general public.

The production of the seminar was made possible thanks to the kind support of the Italian Cultural Institutes in Haifa and Tel Aviv, and the Swiss embassy in Israel.

Last Saturday the gallery hosted a fascinating one-day seminar titled "Palestinian Art in light of Israeli Art" with the participation of Dr. Gidon Ofrat,Dr. Esmail Nashif, Curator Farid Abu Shakra, Artist Walid Abu Shakra and, as moderator, the artist Asad Azi.

In spite of the stormy weather, a curious crowd from all over the country took part in this unique encounter. In the end of the interesting discussion, the artist Walid Abu Shakra accompanied all the guests for a tour in the retrospective exhibition of his works showing presently both at the gallery and at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
